Description
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BLASTING NOZZLE HAS A 5/16″ BORE AND 1″ ENTRY. THIS TOUGH VENTURI NOZZLE IS FITTED WITH AN EZ GRIP THERMOPLASTIC JACKET AND WEAR RESISTANT BRASS ALLOY THREADS. WHEN USING A TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BLASTING NOZZLE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT AIR SUPPLY FOR NOZZLE PRESSURE YOU NEED.
THREADS:
IF YOU ARE USING ALUMINUM NOZZLE HOLDERS YOU SHOULD TRY NOT TO USE AN ALUMINUM NOZZLE HOLDER. THIS MAY CAUSE THREADS TO GALL. GALLING IS WHERE LIKE METALS WILL FUSE TOGETHER. ONCE THE TWO METALS FUSE IT WILL BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEPARATE THE NOZZLE FROM NOZZLE HOLDER WITHOUT DAMAGING BOTH.
THREADS: 1-1/4″ NPSM. UDLB-5BA USES GASKET/WASHER NW-1514.

Nozzle Bore Size Selection factors and air :
If you choose a tungsten carbide blasting nozzle with too small a bore and have plenty of air available you could be sacrificing additional blast cleaning capacity. If you choose a carbide nozzle with too large a bore and don’t have enough compressed air to reach a nozzle pressure of 100 psi you won’t be able to blast clean productively. This is why knowing your compressor’s CFM rating is very important when choosing your sand blasting nozzle.
Nozzle material:
You can further optimize your blast cleaning nozzle selection by choosing a liner material to maximize productivity for type of abrasive being used. For example you wouldn’t want to be using a tungsten carbide nozzle with aluminum oxide abrasive. The tungsten carbide nozzle just won’t last.
