Description

Boron carbide wide-spray BCI-52W

Boron carbide wide-spray bci-52w, (5/16″) bore, blast cleaning insert, has a wide exit to give a  larger blast pattern.  Larger blast pattern will let the  blast cleaning operator, cover a larger surface area.  Boron carbide is recommended for blast cleaning with more aggressive abrasives.  If you are using aluminum oxide  then our  bci-52w insert will give you more work life than e.g. tungsten carbide.  BCI-52W has a 7/8″ O.D. to fit BNP style blast cleaning guns. (Insert will need a different locking ring and guard).

Blast cleaning with less aggressive abrasives,  look at the tungsten carbide version, TCI-62W (3/8″ bore). for  a smaller blast pattern try our TCI-5 which has a straight bore.

Liner Material
Steel Shot / Grit (hours)
Expendable Abrasives (hours)
Aluminum Oxide (Hours)
 Ceramic  20-40 10-30 1-4
 Tungsten Carbide  500-800 300-400 20-40
 Silicon Nitride / Carbide  600-1000 400-600 50-100
Boron Carbide 1500-2500 750-1500 200-1000

All figures is above table are indicative & given for comparison purposes only and nozzle service life will depend on variables such as blast pressure, media dimensions and profile.
