Why Boron Carbide?
Boron carbide EVBC-7W/50 nozzle is a wear resistant material that offers some advantages to the sandblasting operation. Nozzles with a Boron carbide liner are lighter weight than a comparable tungsten carbide nozzle. Nozzles with a Boron carbide liner have a longer working life in comparison to either tungsten carbide, silicon carbide or silicon nitride (syalon). Boron carbide nozzles will last longer than tungsten carbide or silicon lined nozzles. They work with a broad spectrum of abrasives from Aluminum oxide to Coal slag. For example, a Boron carbide may last between 200 to 1000 hours when blasting with aluminum oxide. A comparable tungsten carbide nozzle may only last for 20 to 40 hours!
